Shooting with the Improper
With the new shop being so busy, I forgot to post about the fun photo shoot we did with the Improper Bostonian in September! We spent an entire day shooting vintage outfits with both mobile shops in a heat wave! I’m so glad I had the NKD ladies on hand to keep me pretty!
The issue:
Haberdash Happenings
Last weekend we brought the Haberdash Bus out for the grand opening party of Crompton Collective. This weekend we ventured out to Worcester’s Start on the Street’s 10th anniversary. If you missed us, you can catch the new bus at SoWa October 14th and October 28th!
Haberdash was also featured in The Improper Bostonian and The Boston Globe last week!
Haberdash 2
The Haberdash family is growing! I’ve been working on our second mobile shop and it’s about 95% complete, so I thought I’d share!
When I found out our retail shop, Crompton Collective, wouldn’t be ready to open until September, I knew I needed a summer project! On a whim and a 9 hour drive later I picked up this adorable bus and added her to the Haberdash Family (with a lot of help from Mr. Towner and his firemen buddies)! Her nickname is B.B. because she is the little bohemian sister of The Haberdash. I curated this shop to be a little bit hippie and a little bit rock and roll, inspired by my mom and late stepdad.
You can find us at SoWa Open Market soon! If you would like us to roll up to your event, shoot me an email!
Haberdash in Kendall
Last Thursday Haberdash set up shop in Cambridge’s Technology Square for their concert on the common series. I was stoked about this event because our friends own Area Four and I was excited to spend a perfect summer night in Cambridge surrounded by friends! Seriously, if this is work, I’m a very lucky lady!
A new shop!
Finally! After years of searching for the most perfect store front we landed back where our search started in Worcester’s Canal District. Come September we will be able call the historic Crompton and Knowles building home! I hope you will follow along with us on our new venture!
We are also looking for some very talented artist’s and crafters that would like to sell their wares in our shop! So please pass this info along!
Don’t fret, the mobile shop will still be in full swing at your private parties, SoWa and StArt on the Street!
StArt on the Street Recap
Yesterday was so special to me. It was so cool to see so many creative people at my favorite festival held at my favorite part of my city! If you are fan of my clothing swap business The Swapaholics you probably have heard me gush about the Canal District once or twice before! We host all our local swaps in a beautiful industrial building down there! Anyway…
Thank you, Worcester for visting, shopping, and keeping me company at Start on the Street! See you in September!
Haberdash at ReStore
We had so much fun hanging out ReStore yesterday! I hope you all found some cool items for your home or closet and learned a little about Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore and the lovely things they do! I plan to partner with them again soon! So if you want to keep in touch, follow them on Facebook!
Big thanks to the Kona Truck and Goulds Hots Dogs for keeping us well fed!
Mobile Shop Spotlight: Trish Hunter Finds
Trish Hunter Finds
Melbourne, Australia
@trishhunter
In May of 2011, Trish opened the door of this cute mobile shop after years of selling vintage at markets and at fairs, often dreaming of having a beautiful space to display her nicer items. You can find it at Camberwell Market every Sunday. If you don’t live in Melbourne Australia, You can also buy fabulous vintage clothing & collectables in her online shop!
Last Sowa of the season
Sunday was our last Sowa Open Market of the season. It’s getting kinda nippy here in the northeast, so we bundled up and sported our favorite Fig Knitting hats to keep warm. If you live near Boston and have never been to Sowa it’s worth the drive, even if you are not in to AWESOME hand made items. Because of the food or food trucks rather. Every time we vend that market we try food from at least half the food trucks there. Our favorites being, Clover, Grillo’s Pickles, Grilled Cheese Nation and The Cupcakory. Hope you get the chance to check them out!
