Mobile Shop Spotlight: Trish Hunter Finds

Trish Hunter Finds
Melbourne, Australia
@trishhunter
In May of 2011, Trish opened the door of this cute mobile shop after years of selling vintage at markets and at fairs, often dreaming of having a beautiful space to display her nicer items. You can find it at Camberwell Market every Sunday. If you don’t live in Melbourne Australia, You can also buy fabulous vintage clothing & collectables in her online shop!
Mobile Shop Spotlight
Since I opened the Haberdash Mobile Shop I’ve become even more smitten with all things trailer and mobile related. I have been keeping tabs on all food trucks, cute trailer owners and mobile shops popping up. I have been known to share them on tumblr or Pinterest. But I thought it would be nice to give the best ones a little more recognition. So I will be featuring a new shop every week! If you want to recommend one, leave it in the comments. Here we go!

Monica and I used to be blog friends many moons ago (back in 2007) when I used to actually do style posts on Punkystyle.com.
She opened her mobile shop in Texas in March of 2010, after her and her family built it inside a 1964 Airstream Overlander. Inside this cute airstream shop is racks of clothing, accessories, sunglasses, vintage wares and a big selection of novelty snacks and toys. She also runs a online shop if you cant make it to Texas.

Start on the Street

The Haberdash will be at StArt on the Street this Sunday!
Don’t miss the festival that was voted “Best of Worcester Annual Festival” by Worcester Magazine readers and “Best of Festivals & Special Events” by Worcester Living readers in 2011.
“Join us from 11a-5p on Sunday, September 18th when we once again shut down Worcester’s Park Ave to cars and open it to arts, performances, food, friends, and a few competitive folks on roller skates.”
This year’s festival will include, but is certainly not limited to:
- 200+ artists and crafters selling their handmade wares
- Kids fun area
- 4 stages with a variety of performances through the day, including music, spoken word and children’s acts
- Food court complete with vegan options (vegan ice cream too? You bet!)
- Central Mass Roller Derby
- Street Performance
- Artist Demonstrations
Styling for Womag

The Worcester Magazine issue about shopping thrifty in Worcester that Linnea (our online shop guru) and I styled came out this week. You can also read it online here.
Old School Mobile Shop
As you know, I love Trailers, I grew up surrounded by them. We had a 1960′s teal Shasta in our back yard that was used as my clubhouse when friends came over. I also spent my summers in a Airstream like caravan in a beach town on Cape Cod. We still have that camp and it’s one of my favorite places to visit. My obsession for mobile shops definitely stems from my love of trailers. I could spend hours researching both of them online. Some fun old ones I found this week:

Summer of Sowa
I was reminiscing about my first market I ever did with my vintage collection the other day. It was in Boston at the Sowa Open Market event called Baked Fresh. I was so nervous and I stressed over the event for months. Now we are on our 4th year of selling at Sowa, planning events and vending markets is like walking and talking for me, I don’t even think about it. What a difference four years makes (wink wink).

New Online Shop
I was worried with all the Swap traveling I have going on this summer, I would be neglecting The Haberdash. I’ve decided to enlist the help of another pack rat, vintage lover, and old stuff expert to run the online shop. Welcome Linnea to the Haberdash Team! You can count on her to bring affordable, on trend vintage straight to your desktops!
totally rad, mega unique and affordable vintage clothing, shoes and accessories.
